Why Sell in Winter?
Most people believe that selling in the winter in Minnesota is not a good idea because demand is higher in the spring. But what if EVERYONE waited until spring to list their home? The market is full of competition in the spring, and your house becomes one of many.
The best reason to sell in winter is … less competition!
The number of homes available for sale is lowest in December and January, which means that choices are limited, and your house stands out!

Winter buyers are more likely to be serious.
You will not be inconvenienced by lookers this time of year – winter house-hunters are serious about buying a home. Window shoppers are not out now, but they sure are in the spring!
Don’t expect prices to rise in spring like they have in the past.
Year over year increases have put a lot of buyers OUT of the market, causing a slight slowdown in demand. Coupled with rising interest rates, this means that the housing market cannot continue to sustain 5-7% increases in prices. So waiting for spring hoping for a better price is probably a non-starter.
Don’t try to time the market. There are plenty of serious buyers out there now, and not enough homes to go around. So call, text, email and let’s talk about getting ahead of the competition by listing now!
